This summer has flown by! Summer camps, vacations, mental breakdowns and 5 year olds will do that to you 😉 But during the last few months I have been having mini love affairs with different products, books, movies, skincare, etc. I’ve compiled a list of my absolute ride or dies….Enjoy!

Monterey Pocket V-Neck Tee
You guys!!! First of all, leave it to Target to produce the most perfect t-shirt I’ve ever worn and pretty much ALWAYS have it on sale for around $7.
For as fancy as I want to be sometimes, my most perfect outfit, the outfit I have rocked since I was trolling bars for boys back in my 20s, is a pair of good jeans and white t-shirt. Maybe give it a boost with a fab pair of earrings and amazing wedges, maybe keep it real low key with a boyfriend jean and flip flops. Either way, the white t-shirt is the ultimate wardrobe staple for me and I replace them every season.
This summer I found this v-neck by Universal Thread…it is perfection; an ideal length in the body and sleeve, the perfect v-neck in a medium weight cotton that held it’s shape and wasn’t too sheer. I bought 5 🙂
Beautycounter Charcoal Cleansing Bar
I was introduced to Beautycounter a while back and was immediately intrigued but it’s overall mission and commitment to high quality beauty products without the chemicals and gunk that’s in pretty much everything else.
Being a makeup and skincare obsessor, I needed to know more. One of my first purchases was their Charcoal Cleansing Bar. I had read fabulous reviews of this little guy and was intrigued by it’s claims:
– Detoxifies skin without over drying
– Activated charcoal absorbs impurities and for a brighter complexion
– Formulated with organic coconut oil and essentials oils to nourish and hydrate
– Works for all skin types (ideal for oily and acne prone skin) and made without parabens, sulfates, dyes and fragrances.
After a few days, I was hooked. My skin felt deeply cleansed but not stripped of anything. I noticed my pores had shrunk and the overall tone of my skin looked better. In the summer, I struggle with excess oil and this helped to control it while also keeping my skin moisturized. I’ve also started to use it on the kids simply because I feel really good about the purity of the product.

*Yeti 20 oz Rambler
I feel like the basic of all bitches, but I adore my Yeti. I got my 20 oz Rambler for my birthday and use it daily. Hot and cold insulated and I mean INSULATED…cold stays cold for hours and my coffee keeps a perfect temp way longer than any other travel mug I own. Use it with a straw lid or standard mug lid and it’s all you need in this whole world 😉 Also, when you register it, Yeti sends you stickers…I mean c’mon, STICKERS! And then you can decorate!
Emma Reichart Rosè
You can’t achieve true “basic” status unless you fill that Yeti with Rosè!! I found this particular label while researching the best, most economical wines at Trader Joe’s (TJ’s and I are real tight) and people were raving about the Emma Reichart Rosè Pinot Noir. I’d never heard of that blend but it’s description grabbed me; a dry wine bursting with flavors of watermelon and red currant. And it did not disappoint!!
Find it at Trader Joe’s but don’t be surprised if the stock is really low or totally sold out. When you see a case, grab it!
*”Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman
Oh my word did I devour this book! It’s immediately immersing, smart and heartwarming with a charming yet odd heroine who I found myself loving, pitying and celebrating all the way through. I read it in about 3 days and was legit sad when it ended! It’s on it’s way to be a movie also so we’ll see if the film version holds up.
A perfect beach read. An excellent book club pick. I just adored it.
*Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen
Remember the days of Banana Boat Spray Oil SPF 10? I do. I also remember the lovely shade of red/purple I would end up in my vain attempt at a beautiful bronze.
I’m fair. My Irish/German skin loves the sun but requires a highly effective sun shield. I’ve tried dozens and dozens of sunscreens over the years and this summer I happened upon my absolute favorite. Neutrogena Beach Defense comes in a spray and cream. Both absorb quickly without feeling greasy and leaves the skin feeling soft. I used it on the kids as well when were on our beach vacation and not even the slightest burn was had!
Iliza Schlesinger: Elder Millennial
Maybe it’s because she is so wickedly smart or maybe it’s the relatability of her work (since I, myself, am an Elder Millennial) or maybe it’s just that she’s an unapologetically honest, hilarious and female celebrating woman in a male dominated field, but Iliza Schlesigner has quickly become my #1 favorite stand up comedian. Her 2017 Netflix special “Elder Millennial” had me ROLLING! Like I had to hit pause to finish laughing.
Watch it and laugh your ass off. And if you happen to be born in the early 80s and fall into the category of an “elder millennial” be prepared to laugh even harder.
