Oh hello, fellow Entrepreneur Mom…I’m really glad you landed here.
“Here” is where we, the hard working, business building, family raising women of the internet, can come together to learn, support, and maybe heal a little bit.
“Here” is The Haven: A Community For Entrepreneur Moms, a virtual space where business owning moms can find resources, community and networking to make the journey easier!
I want to give you a little tour, a peek inside, and share some of what I’ve been planning for us.
First of all, I’m Katie, I am a content writer, marketing strategist, elder millennial entrepreneur mom and I am the creator and construction manager of The Haven.
I’ve been in business for myself for almost 5 years – crazy to say it outloud! And in those 5 years I’ve not only created a career for myself, I’ve personally grown, changed, and honestly, healed due in large part to this small business I decided to start.
Over the course of being a small business owner, I’ve been in a few business networking groups and found such wonderful people, resources and support but the one thing that seemed to be missing from all of them was the “mom” aspect.
There are just certain things – challenges, frustrations, logistics – that we as entrepreneur moms face and the only other people who truly get it are other entrepreneur moms.
The idea started…
So in a vent session with a friend, and fellow small business owning mom, earlier this year I started talking about a business networking & resource group that did all the things the other groups did – learning, connection, resources – but all geared specifically to the needs of entrepreneur moms.
And a few days later, The Haven was born.
I sketched my idea on a random piece of graph paper (my brain thinks in pictures first) and started the process of building this community.
So, enough of the backstory, let’s take a look inside The Haven!
A Look Inside The Haven – A Community For Entrepreneur Moms
First of all, and this was super important to me, I wanted the space we would actually occupy to be familiar and easy to navigate. The LAST thing we need is for our already over-stuffed brains to learn new tech stuff – no!
Our community dashboard looks like this, with channels dedicated to the different focuses and topics.
Each channel has its own discussion board, there is a dedicated learning space and a one-stop-shop for all the business, content & mindset resources you get as part of your membership.
And in addition to the stuff you can access at all times, we will be welcoming guest experts each month to talk and teach on a whole bunch of topics – mental health, marketing & sales automation, physical wellness, platform specifc (TikTok, IG, etc) learning – the list just keeps growing.
We will also be meeting virtually (and hopefully someday in person 🤞🏻) twice a month for Q&A, learning and just connecting.
OH! And my favorite part!!
One of the things that has been so incredibly helpful, supportive and business/life changing was finding someone to be my accountability partner – we call each other Accountabilibuddies 🙂
She and I started as business pals – troubleshooting, brainstorming, feedback-ing – but have become dear friends. EVERY small business owner needs an accountabilibuddy!
So inside The Haven there is space dedicated to finding a business buddy! Yay!
The Biggest Why
Oh this is an easy one – it’s US!
I know, sort of cliche but truly, the reason I decided to build out this community and let it loose on the small business world is because the role of mom is one that is universally under supported.
We are under supported in healthcare, in business, in childcare and I am ready to start taking some of our power back!
True community support happens when a common space is created around a common purpose and then passionate people come into that space ready to do the work.
We are those passionate people and I truly hope you are ready to do the work with me!
The lives we are living and building for ourselves, and our families, deserve nurturing, deserve support, deserve time & attention.
Inside The Haven I want you to find all those things. I want you to be a part of creating that for other entrepreneur moms.
