4 Minute Makeup: Your Quick & Easy Makeup Routine

So I’m a mom, a stay at home mom of 2 little kids, and therefore most days I remember to brush my teeth and that is a win 🙂

On other days, days that require me to be in the world and possibly interacting with strangers, I like to remember that I am also a woman who does take pride in her appearance…even if the details of my life often prevent me from making that obvious. On those days I grab my go-to, holy grail makeup products and throw on a face that isn’t quite Instagram-esque but many steps above “thrown in the towel completely”. It’s a 4 Minute Face, my quick and easy makeup routine.

In another part of my life, I worked in the luxury beauty industry and have continued my love affair with makeup and beauty through my freelance work.

Before kids, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down to do my makeup at a leisurely pace, using all the brushes, experimenting and trying new techniques and products. Now? It’s mere minutes in between fights and requests for cheese crackers and having a 3 year old climb into my lap to look in my nose.

I’ve always looked for and loved products that are easy to use with fingers or minimal brushes and can easily be thrown into a small makeup bag and tossed in a purse for on-the-go, red light application.

So I’ve developed my 4 minute face. 4 minutes; because that’s the time I know I’ll have from the moment I press “Play” on Netflix to when one of them will inevitably loose interest and come looking for me.

ColourPop No Filter Concealer

This inexpensive (you guys, it’s $6!) and out of this world concealer is my dream product. Highly pigmented and so creamy, a little goes a really long way. It blends out seamlessly making spot concealing a breeze and sets to a matte finish. The shade range is bomb, the coverage superb…I legit don’t have a single bad thing to say about it.

NGL, I’ve used this all over and foundation so many times. It’s a total A+ for me.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

You guys. I have tried dozens and dozens of bronzers in my bronzer wearing life. From super cheap to ridiculously expensive, I come back to this one every single time. It is the exact right tone for fair/medium skin. It’s not muddy or splotchy. It gives the skin a beautiful warmth without looking the slightest bit too orange or too ruddy.

In the winter it’s the ideal shade, in the summer a few extra swipes and it enhances your sun kissed glow. And it smells like a beach, no lie.

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper

Being in my mid 30s, I lived through a period of time that was truly tragic for eyebrows. We plucked them down to nothing and abused and manipulated their natural shape till they were awful, skinny, sperm-y looking things. It was horrid. Fast forward to present and we have fallen back in love with THE BROW. I possess some serious brows that, thanks to my over-plucked history, grew back in slightly patchy and uneven.

Voila! The L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper! This tinted gel swipes on easily, camouflages any bare spots and gives your brows a naturally full look. It’s seriously effortless. It’s bomb

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush

A good blush is the answer to so much, it’s honestly one of my ultimate beauty products. Blush is a magic wand on days when you need a perk me up and to appear like you slept more than 4 hours. It’s essential to a quick and easy makeup routine.

My go-to for easy application, all day wear and the most natural flush is the Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty. No matter which shade you go with, the formula is just perfection. You can’t go wrong!

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara

It’s no secret that a hit of mascara can pretty easily wake up the face and some days if I put on ANY kind of makeup, it’s mascara.

Lash Paradise quickly became one of my ultimate mascaras (TBH I have a few loves in this department) and I keep multiple tubes on hand. The formula is creamy without being difficult to work with and dries down quickly so smudge errors are minimal. The real winner here is the brush; lush and dense, it easily coats each lash and builds beautiful volume easily.

This little lovely is a budget friendly wonder!

Smith’s Rosebud Salve

I love a good multi-tasking product and this is one of them. Rosebud Salve has been in production for over 100 years and for good reason! It’s one of my favorite lips on easy makeup days, an excellent cuticle moisturizer, and an all over facial moisturizer when I’m feeling especially dry. I have a tin or tube on hand at all times.

Swipe a bit on your lips for a boost of moisture, a subtle hint of color and lovely shine.

You guys?! POOF! Your quick and easy 4 minute face is done!

Off you go!!

xoxo
